Wolfspeed (semiconductor developer) recently announced plans to build a new plant in Chatham County, North Carolina. The company’s $5B investment is the largest in North Carolina history and is expected to create over 1,800 jobs. The new facility will be located on a 400-acre site near the intersection of Zion Church Road and Old U.S. Highway 421. Wolfspeed is based out of Durham and expects initial construction on the new plant to be completed by 2024.
